about

'Live At The Last Hotel' has been described as  "a journey through heartfelt alt-country soul that beautifully conveys the story of a singer/songwriter's love affair with the American songbook and a 1930s Kay guitar." (TimeOut) and "an overwhelmingly endearing album that grows on you with each listen"(Unpaved)
After falling in love with an old Kay parlour guitar from the 1930’s in Venice, CA. and sharing a bunch of new tunes with Allison Ferrier (violin/ harmonies) and Tim Murphy (double bass), Sean McMahon’s Western Union began a relentless schedule of dates in Melbourne bars. Eight or nine months later, with the help of Jeff Lang, they recorded ‘Live at the Last Hotel’, an intimate collection of ten songs, all recorded live in one day, with minimal overdubbing to 8 track tape.
